Located near the Blue Mounds and only 30 minutes from Madison, Mounds Cave is often referred to as the Jewel Cave of North America, and for good reason!
The cave is now hidden on the southern slope of the Blue Dunes. It is popular for the spectacular limestone features formed over thousands of years inside the caves. You can easily see with good instructions on the website.
Without going into too much of a history lesson, it might be hard to believe, but it was just an accident when Dunes Cave was first discovered.

Lake Geneva is now quite large, so make sure you pick your beach spot first. It’s said to be nowhere near the size of the Great Lakes, and I think the size is relevant.
Once here you can stroll along Lake Geneva and stop at the charming Riviera Beach. You will often walk past many monuments that are purely historical.

Known as Wisconsin’s largest state park, Devil’s Lake encompasses more than 9,000 acres of beauty in the Baraboo Range.
Not only is it beautiful, but millions of visitors flock to Devils Lake State Park every year. It is one of the most visited parks in Wisconsin. There’s plenty of room for everyone – even if you’re not let in – and it never feels crowded.
When you arrive, be sure to take some incredible walks through the park. It’s a great way to explore the park and see wildlife around this beautiful part of Wisconsin.
Of course, you have to follow the ice age trail (after all, the lake was formed by ancient glaciers). Oh, and don’t forget to look up the devil’s ways.

There’s something for you to do on the west end of Lake Superior, especially in nearby Pattison State Park. Here you will find the majestic Big Manitou Falls. This is the highest decline in all of Wisconsin, but it has profound implications for Native Americans living in the region.
After spending some time in the past, return to Superior and check out Fairlawn Mansion (near Barker’s Island), Thirsty’s, Richard I. Bong Museum, and Shooter’s Saloon.

The fresh water of Lake Superior is beautiful on a sunny day. It’s also an ideal spot for kayaking, easily organized by Lost Creek Adventures tours. Well organized.
Egg Harbor is an absolute paradise to visit with County Door as I mentioned before, especially if you love the great outdoors.
You see, in Door County you will find charming lighthouses and small villages that are perfect for traveling around the area.

I’m still not sure how Bayfield is classified as a city (it’s so small) but it’s a beautiful place to visit in Wisconsin.

Not far from Milwaukee, Holy Hill is a temple that is almost 100 years old! It is absolutely fascinating to look at and one of the best places in Wisconsin to see some of the state’s historic sites.
